The cliché' “Why reinvent the wheel” is an oft used expression to remind us that it is a waste of time and energy to do over what has already been done. It is also a reminder that whenever we can offload a task instead of doing it ourselves, we would be well advised to do such. But the danger is that the more we do so, the less competent we may become in mastering or performing that specific function.
