However, one thing that I did not pay much attention to in my previous writings was the negative consequences of what can be referred as the “coronavirus pandemic austerity program,” inclusive of society lockdowns, isolation, loss of employment, curtailment of social activities, social distancing, and mask wearing. These factors came up in the continuous online discussions I had with my son, but I did not share his perspective that the above negative consequences were likely more deadly and destructive than the consequences of getting infected with the coronavirus to begin with.
